Mom on HorseWelcome to my world, or rather my site. Am Larry from North Canton, Ohio Me-Feb-08(formerly called New Berlin, but underwent a name change during World War II). This site will give you a little (very little) insight into my life. And maybe give you a laugh or two.

Mom, on a carousel horse, is now gone - December 4, 2008.  You never realize how much someone does or means until they are no longer around.  You also never know how much of an ass a sibling and his shrew can be.

The site was easy to create and is hosted by config.com internet services out of Ravenna, Ohio (www.config.com) For photos, see Galleries.

The picture with the Pepsi was taken at Vaughan's Pub in Bolivar, Ohio in March of 2009.  The other pic with Kimmie was taken April 21, 2007 at the Iron Pony Saloon in Lakeville, Ohio. This favorite haunt was also the playing ground for "Blackout Rock 'N' Roll" band, which I do videos for - you can see the videos at the URL below (the Iron Pony stoppend having bands as of 2010). There are also pics there too of the band in "concert". Behind me is Kim, a follower of Blackout, and a foxie lady. (www.myspace.com/blackoutrocknroll).  Blackout can also be seen on www.youtube.com/blackoutrocknroll .
The Goateed me
Blackout has ten DVDs out that have been produced by PYEcom Home Video, one even won the Communicator Awards Award of Excellence, while two more won Silver Tellys, and more have won other awards.

The dvd is called BLACKOUT: Underground and Uncensored.

In December of 2006, a new additional was added to the household - Chrissy. She is now a 6.5 year old femaleIMG_1012 German Shepherd, that was abandoned at the Columbiana County Humane Society. The people gave no details, nor name, so she was named Chrissy, for the time of year (actually the day after Thanksgiving, but naming a dog Thanks would not be appropriate). Set to be euthenized, she was sponsored, then we adopted her on December 30, 2006

She is a small female, but was right for Mom

She used to rarely bark or growl, except for certain "sales people" that come to the door. She is barking and even growling at friends until she gets to know them. But then she is a "watchdog" (she has a miniature German-made Cookoo clock strapped to her left paw when she goes formal). She has met a male German Shepherd called "Deuce". She barks at him a lot - and I told her that a male chases a female until she catches him. She doesn't listen.

She has become very playful and has adjusted well to her new home, Mom, Zack and especially me. She can be seen in Gallery 9 and 12.

Mom, on February 3, spent her first night with Chrissy without me being around. I came home to find a large bag of fur, brushed from Chrissy. Mom is walking more, talking better after the stroke, and having a blast with her new "grand-daughter".  Chrissy sleeps in her room til I go to bed, then she sleeps with me - get your minds out of the gutter (that goes for you Justin and Kaw-Liga).  As verified by photo IMG-7008, she likes to tug and play rough, with me, but she never has hurt either of us. She certainly misses Mom, and often whines and lays at the foot of her bed.

She now is used to the invisible fence and has been good at not crossing over it.  Although she did get zapped chasing a rabbit and a squirrel. She is great at keeping one neighbor's unwanted mutt from doing its business in the yard (I have enough to clean up), but barks at the "furball" across the street. When the "furball" crossed the street and invaded the yard, Chrissy defended the property - much to the dismay of the owner (no leash, no restraints). She shook the invader like a rag doll.  She loves the snow, and deep snow too - as long as she does not have to shovel it. The Saturday before Easter 09, she found four baby bunnies - two were dead, and the other two she tried to bring into the house - live and well.  The bunnies, however, did not live long.  She did have a litter - perhaps she felt she was a better mother.

Thanks to the couple that gave her up. She is a wonderful companion and member of the family, unfortunately the better looking one. And thanks to Tari Kridler for responding to my email and letting us adopt her. Tari can be reached at www.kridlersgermanshepherds.com

The opening page photo was taken the Saturday before Mom went into the hospital with the UTI (and later into the nursing home).  It is the best way to remember them.  My brother never saw Mom after April, 2002, and only called once in fall of 2003.  I was with Mom and Dad at the last for both of them.  I do not regret being by their sides or holding Dad's hand as he left (Mom refused to go til after Chrissy and I had left).  Yes, remembering it brings tears to my eyes, but also fond memories of their lives.  The three of us (then the two of us) were close.  They will be remembered, revered, and loved always.
